Tactum Electronic chessboard for visually impaired

Tactum is the world first and only electronic chessboard, for visually impaired people. Tactum allows visually impaired people to play chess on online websites, on a real and pregiate wooden chessboard. Tactum is crafted exactly as standard chessboard for visually impaired people, it integrates a sophisticated electronic board for piece detection with USB and Bluetooth interface to the world of digital chess. Thanks to the world class google chrome Chessconnect extension, on purpose modified the connection to chess websites is  extremely simple and straight forward. Tactum chessboards are made of pregiate solid wood  in acacia wood and boxwood while the frame is also exquisitely crafted with solid acacia wood. Each chessboard comes with specific set of pieces for visually impaired made of acacia wood and boxwood too.

Tactum is available in two different sizes, 25mm squares and 35mm squares

Tactum beginner 20cmx20cm playing area ca. 8” x 8”

Dimensions 30cm x 30cm x 2,5cm (11,8″ x 11.8″ x 1.0″ ) 25mm square ( 1,0″ ) and comes with a set of 34 wooden  pieces set (king 1,75″).

Tactum advanced 28cm x 28cm playing area 11” x 11”

Dimensions 38cm x 38cm x 2,0cm (15,0″ x 15.0″ x 1.0″ ) 35mm square ( 1.38″ and comes with a set of 34  wooden pieces set (king 2,5″).

You can play on major chess website over Bluetooth, USB with PC Mac, unix and Android. The move move announcement of your opponent can be set in five different languagues, English, German, Italian, French and Spanish. Tactum chessboard is designed to allow the touch, the feel of the chessboard and pieces position as you normally do. The pieces can be esaily pinned in the squares  while the chessboard will electronically replicate it in a very reliable way. To improve the comfort and allow allow an error proof play  the latency time, for move detection is settable to match your optimal comfort. A specific Bluetooth module is also included and will allow wireless connection to PC, MAC, Unix and Android smartphones and tablets.
